On eBay? I never saw it! Do you have a link?

Something must be wrong with my search, I seem to miss a lot.

Nice $1,667.09 jump on the close.

40 bids and the spread between the second under bidder and under bidder is 125%.

Once again on a hotly contested item, early bidding has no bearing on the outcome.

Is this a strong price Fitz?

  • Yeah. Check out that spread on the last two big guns.

PaulMaul is more of an expert than me though.

I would say that's a great price for that, but he may say otherwise.

I think it's a very high price. Clearly, based on the winning bidder, there is an expectation of pack freshness and a hope for good PSA results. I'm kinda shocked anyone even noticed without "ludlow" in the title. Also surprised bidding was so aggressive w/o any useful photos.

About 4 years back I broke up a collection of a few dozen Wacky Packages Test Patches still wrapped in cellophane that came from an old Topps employee. I ended up getting like $75-$300 per patch via ebay auction and I was wondering if I did well on them or if they flew under the radar and the two main buyers got a deal.

I think you did well on them. I bought one of them in fact, the Kook-Aid. It's the only time I have ever seen them in unopened form like that, very cool!

At the last second I dropped a slightly over $2K bid that didn't end up registering.

About a year ago the seller had a bunch of super high grade 60's non-sport and I won a bunch of those. I spoke with them about the condition of the wackys and from what I could gather they are pretty sharp cards. Eric won them, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with the pop report in the next month or so when they pop.

I also just missed out on the Jolly Mean 21 on ebay, which I'm more upset about.

  • Didn't that Jolly Mean look 6 or 7ish ?

I didn't see this card either! I search on ebay daily yet still manage to miss all the good stuff.

Jolly Mean 21 is the rarest wacky of all. A PSA 6 is still very desirable.

Nah, all of the 1972 Die Cuts are far rarer.

Maybe, but I'm still not even convinced what these really are. Unless they were available for sale to the public, they don't count image

How can one tell which Jolly Mean is which in the pics? They don't appear to be in any order....

EDIT: Never mind, I see they are in order after all.

It was tough, the guy just wouldn't send a better pic of that card or any others. Sometimes it's really hard to see boarder creases on the die cuts pin pics.

In the end I bid as if it was a 5. If it did get a 7 it think i would have wound up being a 7OC.
