Innocent X

Even before the NYINC opened, I was in the mood. Berman had some new acquisitions and I was looking for medals designed or influenced byGiovanni Cormano (Johann Jakob Kornmann) So:

This obverse of the medal below is by Morone, but the reverse may be Cormano's.

    Nice medals!

A question on the Washing of the Feet: what clues are there that the reverse is by Cormano? In looking through Miselli at all of the "lavande" medals attributed to Cormano, only one seems to be contemporaneous to the time and thus a proper obv/rev pairing (n. 385), and the reverse is quite different from this example (n. 462).

The operative word here is "may." I have a paucity of references, so I was guessing. I would take your input as canon.
