I know what you mean. Never used to collect brand new patch/auto stuff until I decided I would buy into a few team case breaks of Topps Triple Threads and now im hooked.
Got my first book auto and my first 1/1 in a matter of 2 weeks.

One thing is clear in this thread, the educational system has completely skipped over penmanship with today's players.

I can't make out a single autograph from the above cards.

Well, it's only going to get worse since I don't think they're teaching cursive any longer (around here at least). I also think it's more due to volume of autos signed for all of these different releases.
