Question for the set builders

I finally decided to jump in and collect Topps Heritage - I figured it'd be a moderately affordable modern set that my son and I could enjoy collecting and putting a set together. After buying two boxes and enjoying the ripping experience. We're ready to start storing the cards, which leads me to my question..

How do you all store your sets?

Do you store them in sleeves / binders? If so, do you first put the card in a penny sleeve, and then into a sheet? Any recommendations for 9 sleeve sheets and binders?

Do you store them in Card Savers, and then in a box?

Just curious as to the most preferred method. My son is 4 1/2, but he enjoys the cards. I think he'd enjoy looking through the cards in a binder, but storing the binder may be a problem, as we don't have a ton of storage space. The card saver 1s and an 500 or 800 ct box would be easier to stack, but more difficult to organize.

I'd love any feedback that will sway me one way or the other when it comes to getting the best storage option.

  • When I was a kid I put everything in binders so that I could easily flip through and look at the fronts and backs while keeping everything organized. I'm thinking your son would prefer the same as you hint at below. If you can manage to find the space for the binder, I think that's the way to go!

  • Yeah, that's what I was thinking...

Does anyone have any recommendations on good binders?
  • I keep my sets in ultra pro 9 pocket pages and then in a D-ring binder so I can flip through them whenever I want. That said, I did just place an order with UniKeep to get their 1.5" fully enclosed binders. I haven't put any sets in yet, but they look like they're going to be a really nice alternative to the Ultra Pro D-ring binders.
