Paramount Redfield Dollars in Green Holders

astroratastrorat Posts: 9,221 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have been looking for a Paramount Redfield Dollar in a holder with a green insert. I know they are tough to find where as "Redfield" dollars or just as "Paramount" dollars. The coins were "slabbed" as "Mint State 65 Plus". Does anyone have an idea about how many of these are out there ... somewhere? And, heaven forbid, is there one for sale? image

Edited for spelling ...

  • The Green Holders are very hard to find these days but I did see one Greener at FUN but is was the Paramount
Holder and not a Redfield coin and the dealer want more for it than I had ever seen a Green Redfield. Like said
they do appear on eBay ever so seldom. They were graded MS 66 from the ones I have seen.

Dealer from Dalton, GA had one at FUN. He was asking $3800 for it - says the bid has been gradually rising on them and his price was in line with the market.

I paid 2K for this pair 1-2 years ago - seems cheap now. image

Yes, Redfields and Paramounts graded Mint State 65 Plus were in green holders.

I know the local owner of a Redfield/Paramount Morgan with green insert. Last time I asked him what he wanted for it, he didn't answer me. He had shared a table with me on an occasion last year and had it in my case. Shoulda snagged it then. image

Was talking to Larry Shappiro at Christmas PCGS show, which he had recently sold one. Ironically the Green Redfield had resurfaced
and He may know where to locate it. He's on CU.
Good Luck and be ready to step to the pay window.
  • Please contact me if you are still interested in buying a MS65+ Redfield. I have a collection of 4 of them and am considering selling one. Need the money to pay bills! This is not going to be cheap, I am thinking in the 4K range. My e-mail address is; rottiesforever@live.com
