Amazon sportscard sales traffic

Does anyone here actually purchase cards from sellers on Amazon?

Most of what I've seen is overpriced compared to Ebay, but I wonder how sellers with competitive prices would do there. I'm assuming most don't think of Amazon for their sportscard needs.

I have personally never purchased any cards on Amazon but would if I found a good deal. I think you're correct that most of us just don't think of Amazon when it comes to sportscards.

The cards I have seen on amazon were way over priced (IMO), however, I would have no problem buying cards if priced reasonably.
Another reason I don't buy on amazon is because the selection is very small.

I'm not sure how anyone can be successful selling cards on Amazon. Their fee structure is $39.99/month plus 20% of the 1st $100, plus 10% over $100, plus 6% of the amount over $1,000

Wow those seller rates are awful. I guess they won't be a sportscard sales powerhouse any time soon.

I've had $200 in Amazon gift cards burning a hole in my pocket for months now, but I can't seem to get myself to pull the trigger on any cards on there. Even with "free money" I can't get myself to overpay THAT much.

I think there's a limit to how high a seller can charge for shipping no matter what the item is. Something like $4, I think. Which might explain why prices seemed to high on some items compared to ebay if you were looking at boxes or cases.

Or prices could just be too high, either way.

Amazon sells probably to the retail buyer more than a collector. It is also harder to make a single listing for one card and have a bunch of people list describing their cards with no pictures. I might buy sealed boxes, but not individual cards. But Amazon's layout does not lend itself well to selling cards (IMO).

its crazy expensive to sell cards on Amazon. I went through the process of getting approved to sell memorabilia and cards on there and when they told me the rates I just swallowed my tongue.

also another issue is hahaha with amazon you need signature confirmation or else you need to refund a buyer for not received. and the a to z is tough for sellers

but Amazon has the best buyers in the world. a market place way bigger than ebay.

A huge portion of the cards on amazon are the cross-listing from comc as the seller. I don't sell on comc, but I would like to know if people who do have had sales tracked as purchased directly through the comc site vs. purchased through amazon where comc was listing them, and what kind of difference there was?

If I remember correctly, the COMC seller has to opt-in to be cross-listed on Amazon and gives them a 20% cut of anything sold.
