No love for the .5 grades?

I know PSA has been very conservative in giving .5 grades since they started doing it, I am curious as to why.

Here's some cards from my latest sub, some nice looking 8's.

    I think it really depends on the grader. Some subs I've gotten a healthy smattering of half grades and other subs not a single one. I am personally not a fan of the half grade in general, and the inconsistency in its utilization is a large part of that.


    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

    I think you're right about it depending on the grader. I've had 2 orders that were about 20% w/ half grades, vs. most of the time it seems like I get one or none.

    Agree with Grote on this one. Depends upon the grader. I've had subs with some great cards, and not a single 8.5, maybe the grader didn't get the memo. The cards you pictured seem worthy. The Dude
