My First BGS Submission - 1 Card

I've never been a big fan of A-Rod and I'm probably even less of one now. If that's possible. I picked this card up just days before all of his real trouble began. It's taken at least a $100 or so drop in book value in that time. After missing a group sub someone here was doing, I decided to send it to BGS/JSA. Pulling this grade does makes him a little more tolerable. For today!

Thanks
Craig

Bryan - I was just getting ready to send you a PM! Receiving the EagleEyeKid blessing of a 10 made me think I had a shot!

    Thanks

Hmm, I wonder why they used a silver label for the autograph grade. Usually 10s are gold.

I don't like arod either, but it does look really cool in that holder. Didn't the auto grade use to be gold also if it was a 10?

digicat & Bryan - I have no idea. This is the first card I've ever submitted to them. I'm curious now... Anyone?

    Thanks

Woo hoo! Awesome result there. What is this, about an $800-$1000 card in BGS 10? Or perhaps more?

It may be a JSA distinction?

Boopotts - I have no idea. I couldn't find one listed or one that sold recently. Only 13 out of 542 have been graded a 10 if I'm ready the pop report correctly.

Bryan - Sounds as good as anything I could come up with.

    Thanks

I just checked eBay and there are a ton of JSA 10 autos that are silver to the right. Looks like the most recent thing. Earlier labels used to be just the flip with the auto grade on the back. You're fine. I just think gold looks better.
    Sell now!

After looking at the label, I'm wondering if it was mislabeled. Beckett shows these 3 cards listed for #298...

-1994 Upper Deck #298 Alex Rodriguez UDCA $5.00

-1994 Upper Deck #A298 Alex Rodriguez AU $150.00

-1994 Upper Deck Electric Diamond #298 Alex Rodriguez UDCA $6.00

The UDCA would just be the pack pulled base card, right? That would mean this card was graded as a IP/TTM Autograph card. It's not though. As you can see from the Upper Deck Hologram on the back. Anyone have a take?

    Thanks

My guess is becket listing is wrong. UDCA would stand for upper deck certified autograph, no?
  • Nice!!!

    BobS - That makes sense.

    Tishasheree - Thank you!

Jeff - That never even crossed my mind. I guess because I've seen some of them labeled with the AU.

    Thanks
