No better than an AU58. But, plenty of downside. Lemme guess, seller thinks it's an MS61 or 62?

Looks to be wiped on the reverse. If fairly minor it could still net out in the AU range.

The guy sold a graded 83-S in the past. Has sold many other graded coins. You always have to ask yourself why he would sell a problem free uncirculated coin for a grand less than it is worth? Why not send it in? It's not that he does not believe in slabbed coins, he has sold many.

What does the seller mean by +Full B/F? The only thing that comes to mind would have the B stand for Butt and the F...well it does seem to fit.

Look at the hair above the ear on the obverse and the breast feathers on the reverse and they tell you everything you need to know about MS vs. AU in my opinion.

BF might mean you'll be his new "best friend" if you buy this coin as an MS61. It does have "full" breast feathers (FBF) though....except for those that have been worn off.

How can sellers like this maintain a 100% feed back rating. You'd figure they couldn't do any better than around 20-30%.

Stay away from all 'self-slabbed' coins.

Only buy them if they're for sale at 'melt'.

I am not looking to buy this Morgan. I was looking for a concensus on the grade and issues to help me grade better from pics. My thought on the coin was AU details improperly cleaned.

Hard to tell from the pics if it's been stripped, whipped, or just over dipped?

This date it's younger 84-S sibling are always seen harshly molested most likely by no gooders trying to pass AU's off as UNC's.

I'd "step" up and buy this 1883-s at 2X spot.

I bought a nicely toned, original 83-s in XF++ from one of my local shops for approx $30 not too long ago. Not quite melt, but turned out good for me.

I am at my sons hockey practice and on my note2 you can really see lots of the details it is crazy.
