Hey guys, finally back home. Had 3 jam packed weeks at the hospital incl 6 days of chemo, the transplant and then the recovery which was tough. I still have to be under house arrest for 2 months except going back to the hospital for bloodwork, tests & consultations. But am content being home instead of the 10 x 11' hospital room.
Thanks once again for all the support, it made a tough time more easier to digest....jay

Jay ... so happy to hear that you are back home. Stay strong. You will get thru all this mess. Like I have said before, if you want to talk please feel free to PM me for my #. God Bless.

Glad to hear things are moving along - am I correct that you'll be done with everything in the hospital by the end of Feb?
Take care - I'd like to talk at the end of this week. >>
Mike, I was to be released by/at Feb so I'm on target as the whole ordeal is a 3 week process. I'll have another 6 months of tests, bloodwork & consultations till I'm back to "normal" Will be heading back to the hospital tomorrow for bloodwork and probably 2-4 times a week. Will shoot you a call once I'm settled in.
You don't know me from Adam, but that's irrelevant. Never in my life have I heard or read more positive things about a particular someone, hence I've been rooting very hard for you, amigo. Great to see you back in the jungle and I look forward to future posts!
Thanks for all the support. Am heading back to the hospital for bloodwork which to me is an irony. I'm not allowed to go to a supermarket or a post office for 2 months but I can go (w/ mask on) to a hospital which is loaded w/ germs & diseases. The wife will be driving since my system is run down and some of the meds make me dizzy & hopefully the metallic chemo taste will leave my system by Super Bowl Sunday. And the hospital is an hour away. Will check back later in the day....jay
How are you doing these days Jay? Just had a friend of mine that was in remission is now back in the fight... again. This is like round #5. So just checking to see how you are doing.
He was heading over that way - hopefully - to make some dough to defray all the costs of his treatment.
My understanding is that he's about 6 months into his bone marrow transplant and hopefully will have good news. I think the National pretty much wore him out.
But, IMO, he's in good spirits - is a fighter - and a hell of good guy.

Just got a PC from Jay - I'm not a tele chatter like some of his buds.
He says he hopes to be out of the hospital by late Feb.
He's having a bone marrow transplant which was delayed due to being sick.
I can't stress enough how honored Jay is to have had the kind of generous support than was afforded him by our friends/members here at CU.

I communicated with him just before the National.
