Are you sure it's authentic...color looks off.

And there is paper loss on the bat.

The front colors are really bad. My vote is FAKE.

Unknown. No pics of that side.

Based on the opinions thus far, I think I am going to pass on this one. Appears to be a poor gamble for me.

    Good call.
Yeah just by looking at the colors on the front. I mean the image of mantle looks washed out big time. Yet the black boarder and the boarder around mantles name just pops out clearly. Seems off

I've looked at hundreds of '51 Bowman's through online scans and once owned the entire set including the Mantle.

Hard to tell without seeing pixels in detail, the contrast from the dark black lines and name frame don't match with the faded colors of the image.

The other thing i'd look for is the consistency of the off focus registration on the entire image.
I see some of the out of focus lines along the topside of the bat, but does is it consistent across the entire image?

Do you have a scan of the back?

Do not...was not provided. This was in an auction from a non-card auction house. This is all I had to go on....so decided to pass after the opinions came roaring in.

Picture looks blurry to me. You would think they would take the picture without the holder.

I have never seen a real Mantle rookie at one of those local auction houses. The consignor knows it is a fake and is hoping to snag an unsuspecting buyer.
