1993 Topps #98 Derek Jeter - blank back

Does anyone familiar with this card happen to know why PSA doesn't grade these? I could have sworn they used to have a couple of them on the pop report. Anyways, I sent one in with a recent submission that got an N9, which is a major bummer as it's a nice looking card.

I have seen blank backs labeled authentic by PSA. I guess these are considered proof's so they don't receive an actual grade.

Interesting. I wonder if they still offer authenticating, or if they've stopped slabbing it all together.

It is up to the grader. I just sent one in and got no grade.

D, by "no grade" do you mean the N9 (basically not slabbed and refunded) or did the slab it Authentic?

I was hoping for an Authentic grade but instead got a N9.

I was pretty excited to get this back today. PSA is always my first choice - but they are not slabbing this card. From all of the pop reports for the big three TPG's, Beckett was the only place I saw any reported - and they've only slabbed six including this one. Only two were graded higher.

I don't think PSA has ever graded blank backs. I think a handful have gotten through by graders that didn't know what they were doing, but their policy is to not grade them unless the set was intentionally made as a blank back set.
