I think that is the same card. The seller has other vintage in the thousands.
I picked up a few EX/MT-ish vintage football commons.
When I got to the checkout and saw where they wanted to charge me .25 more, per card, for top loaders ... I almost didn't go through with the purchase. It felt like a 'money grab', and seemed kind of petty to me. But, it was a small purchase of EX/MT-ish cards, so I decided to skip buying the top loaders ... and see how they would ship them.
The cards came well protected in a bubble mailer. Each individual card was in a penny sleeve, and 5 cards were put in a thick top loader, then sealed with a team bag to keep them safe. I was pleasantly surprised with that, as I was half expecting a shoddy shipping job.
I was also impressed with the speed of shipping, and the price of shipping. I didn't realize that COMC was holding all of the cards. I'd noticed I was purchasing from a couple different sellers, so I was anticipating maybe dropping a few cards at checkout ... if the individual shipping fees were too high. When I saw the "You qualify for $3 shipping" I remember thinking that was fairly cheap, considering they were coming from different sellers. (As I mentioned, I didn't realize COMC had all of the cards). So, that was another positive.
As for the overall website "buying experience" .... I absolutely loved the scans, and the ability to see the different cards next to each other!! The zoom feature, and the "click to see back scans" on every single card was impressive. The sorting feature worked well, allowing me to sort by decades, individual sets, newly listed cards, biggest discounts, etc. The only negative ... and this was kind of a big one (for me), was not being able to sort by condition.
I went there to try and find some EX/MT to NM vintage 1950's / 60's football cards, and it got tedious trying to find the few nicer cards, because they're all grouped together with the VG, Poor, and EX cards. I tried resorting to highest price, hoping I could work backwards, and skip over all the $1 and $2 VG cards ... but all I found that way were some ridiculously over priced cards. (like 4 and 5 times book value for an EX condition card ??).
So, all in all I was very happy with my initial purchase, but I went back this morning to try and search for a few more cards, and after about 45 minutes of clicking through all of the lower grade cards, I gave up trying to find anything over EX condition.
I don't know if it's just the particular years I'm searching, but it seems to be mostly low grade filler cards?
I also went and looked at their sellers page, and thought it seemed confusing with all of the fees and extra charges for holding cards "after x amount of days", and cashing out -vs- buying cards from them, having to monitor and lower prices, etc. It's hard to tell if your final cut would be worth the effort you save in listing or selling them yourself. The CU threads consensus seems to be that lower grade, cheaper cards sell fairly well ... but if the trick to keeping that 20% sellers fee is to take your payment back from them in cards (-vs- cashing out) then I'd imagine most sellers are taking 1 nicer card, for every 2 they're selling ... which could lead to a continuous downgrade in the quality of cards listed there?
I like the idea of more avenues to sell / buy / trade cards ... but I'm not sure if I'll use them again, without being able to sort by condition. It just took way to long to try and find a few cards I wanted.
