1 Race 1 win

I had my first horse race last night and will wonders never cease, my horse won at 11-1. Look out, if I start winning consistently I'll have enough purse money to start bidding on 69's again!!!

Harrington is a 1/2 mile track, Dover is 5/8. There at Harrington right now.

Actually the 3-5 favorite broke stride. My horse went right to the lead and never looked back. Won by 4 or 5 lengths. I had a healthy win bet, the exacta 3 times amd the triple. I did very well. The purse was $11000. I get 50% but the trainer gets 5% as does the driver. I'll take 40% all night long.

At 11-1, you are looking at/around $24 per $2 for the WIN bet. How did the second place horse do? As with most races, I'm sure there was lots of money on the "chalk" (3-5 favorite) - so the exacta, trifecta and superfecta (if applicable) were beefy.

IMHO - I'd rather bet the longshots than dealing with the $3.20 per $2 WIN bet on the 3-5 chalks.

The horse paid 24.60, the exacta was $145 and the triple was $762. The 3-5 favorite ran out of the money.
