Some hobby love for 2013 Topps Chrome Football.

With the lower cost this year I've been buying a lot of 2013 Topps Chrome FB. I bought a couple of cases and now I am buying boxes when they go on sale.

Compared to previous year, I've been killing it in terms of pull value vs box cost. I've read message boards on other sites and I think other collectors and saying the same thing.

I know the rookie class isn't as strong as 2012, but for the cost, IMHO 2013 is much better. I've pulled autographs, sometimes multiple, of every top rookie except for EJ Manuel. For Eddie Lacy alone, I pulled 2 standard and 1 refractor auto.

Anyone else have great luck with 2013 Chrome? I am surprised that boxes still sell for below $60.

I haven't pulled much, but all I bought this year was a blaster box from Target and a few hobby packs at the local shop.
  • Oh man I love Eddie Lacy . I would love to pull something like that. I have not bought any , but you make me think about it.

How much is a case ?
I edit almost all my posts because my auto correct is crazy !

Yeah chrome is the cheapest year in a while. They do need one of the qbs to become legit to have any lasting impact unless lacy becomes AP or something

The best price I have seen is on Atlanta Sportscard. It goes to $54/box when they go on sale. The owner Josh is a pretty good guy.

I just bought 3 boxes during the last sale and pulled the following autos Eddie Lacy Refractor auto, Gio Bernard Prism Auto, and Andre Ellington 1969 Retro Refractor auto. That is probably the best I have done so far.

While this rookie class doesn't have the top end star power of 2012. I think it is better than 2011 and 2010. The depth of the rookie class is pretty good as well, especially at the RB and WR spot. There could be 3-5 #1 WRs in the class.

I'm going to start a trade thread on the Buy/Sell/Trade board once I get my singles organized.

I have bought a half dozen blasters from Target. One auto so far. The Jags Lineman redemption card. Out of the six boxes not one Eddie Lacy or Tavon Austin card. But I own EJ Manuel ;-).

Anyhow, I want to complete the base set and a couple of the insert sets. Please PM if I can send you a list of what I need.

I purchased 9 Topps Chrome FB blasters direct from Topps during their Black Friday promo of 30% off ($14 each). I bought them with the intent of flipping but once I had them in hand I realized they were only getting about $15 each on ebay. I ripped WAY too much Chrome last season going for the Luck and Griffins so I had told myself I wouldn't be ripping any Chrome this year. So...I debated for most of December about what to do with the blasters. Resell them to recoup my costs, add them to my small unopened collection or......RIPPPPP.

Well, your thread got me thinking about them again and last Sunday, during the games, I caved in.

AND BOY, AM I HAPPY I DID. CHECK THIS OUT!!!

Yup. I love this product. By far the best of 2013 so far from a cost and content point of view It is easily my most favorite chrome FB since I started buying cases in 2008. I thought 2012 was great, 2013 is even better.
