Jeter Rookies - time to sell?
![ldferg](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/eye_1.gif.gif)
Is now a good time to sell the oddball Jeter rookies: Fleer Excel, Classic, Topps Micro, etc...or would it be better to wait until closer to baseball season?
Referring to PSA 9 and 10 graded.

<< <i>I would say the next best times to sell his cards are when he's about to retire OR if he were to possibly get real close to the all time hit record. But you want to sell the week before he would break it, not the day after. >>
How many years does he have left?? I think if he starts out hot this season, then sell. He is a lock for the HOF and I don't think that is really going to increase his card prices by a ton.

what hit record is going to get close to ?
They call me "Pack the Ripper"
Its funny how this kind of thing can creep up on a person. After watching Pete Rose break the record as a 10 year old, then following baseball for 30 more years, it rapidly became thought of as a record that will be as unbreakable as Lou Gehrig's streak. Clearly it can be broken, as Gehrig's was, given enough time.
While growing up, Wade Boggs and Tony Gwynn were always the favorites to flirt with 4,000 hits (honorable mention to Paul Molitor for his late career surge), but Boggs flamed out and Gwynn succumbed to age/body issues.
I don't believe there is even a full 1% chance that Jeter challenges, but another season or two of his average productivity will put him in the top 5 all time - and that is some pretty good company.
On a side note...anyone ever imagine the numbers Ichiro would have if his first eight years were played here rather than Japan? To be approaching 3,000 hits in 13 years is beyond phenomenal. Cobb put up numbers like that but, come on now...that was 100 years ago.

I am an unabashed Mariners fan and a huge Ichiro fan, but I have little doubt that he'd be a serious threat to the all time hits record if he had played his entire career in the US.
