Anyone know what these 1990 Topps packs are?

I've never seen them before. Assuming they're some kind of retail distribution but not sure. Anyone know how they were distributed?

As a side trivia piece, can anyone tell me what all 5 of these packs have in common (other than the packaging)?

Hey Arthur - when I was stationed at Ft Gordon - Augusta - the only place I saw the big cellos was at Kmart. This is to the best of recollection.

As a side note - in 1992 - the big cellos were the only packs that had the contest cards for the "winner gold foils" that one could see the winner scratch off with a halogen light after Topps got wind of what people were doing. Subsequent packs had 'thicker' contest cards which made it almost impossible to see thru.

The funny thing is that, theoretically, there's a Thomas in each pack. Assuming the sequence stays true (which it does almost every time), there is a Thomas in each pack. This is actually the seller's photo, I haven't had a chance to scan them in yet myself. So someone, at some point, who knew the Topps sequence for a Thomas pack, did a whole bunch of pack searching and set these packs aside. Someone else must have come along, found them, and not knowing what they were, just threw them together in one lot on ebay.

It's virtually impossible to find a rack pack with Thomas showing on top because his cell is the one with the Glossy All-Star card on top.
