Show Off Your Favorite Vintage Baseball Subset!

Somehow, the special cards and subsets always seemed cooler than the garden variety cards from a given year. Out of all the seventies baseball sets I collect, my absolute favorite subset has always been the 1972 Awards cards. I'm not sure why, they just always seemed really unusual and unique. Let's see other people's choices!

I've always been partial to the 68T game cards:

And then a few months ago I picked up a "boxed" set of the cards - which for me represents a "board game" - much like the 51T red/blue back set. IMO, it's rare to find a complete boxed set of the card game - plus it has the instructions. It would've been cool if they included a gameboard - altho it would've been paper.

The cards in the boxed set are mint - never played with. Problem? Not well centered.

Those 61 All Stars are absolutely amazing!

I'm also a big fan of the 59 Baseball Thrills.

My favorite subsets though are World Series cards. As a Dodger fan these two sets are the Best:

Baseball Thrills is a favorite, so is 1962 In Action cards, 1960 Rookies, 1973 All Time Leaders, and 1975 MVP's.

Here is the 1974 Topps World Series subset, also a fav. Great WS between the Mets and A's.

Although I do not have any of them now, I always liked the 1962 Topps Babe Ruth subset.

Just completed my 1972 postseason subset. My 1972 set is a combination of PSA 9s and raw cards I believe to be roughly the equivalent of PSA 8 or better. I try to be pretty strict about grade as well as eye appeal.

This is what I was thinking too. Obviously partial. Love the 68 game cards too.

All really nice collections posted here. Enjoyed seeing these. Reminds me I should get the 65,68.69 Cardinal world series and team cards.

Next on my list is the 1972 League Leaders. I need two more to finish those.
