    Matt,
I just got 1 back in 10 days. But you never know.

On the 60's special, my cards were received on 4/30 and the grades were posted today (4/10)...pretty quick. This invoice was graded much harder than the previous one I sent in. I didn't receive any 9's (compared to over twenty last time) and I received quite a few more 7's than my last invoice. Maybe it was just the cards I sent even though I thought they were similar in quality. Oh well, I guess the two will average out.

    Bob,

Did you send in 60's or was it a round about submission. It's been over 3 weeks for me. I know they're pumping the 60's. My last 2 submissions were 10 days. Running out of ammo and going broke.image

    Thanks, Matt

    For my 60's submission:

    date received: 4/29
    date grades posted: 5/6
    date received at home: 5/10

On the modern service, I just received my grades on Wed, but they had been there since 4/1...it was definately pushing the deadline, a couple more business days and it would have been free. It looks like they are pushing the 60's through pretty quickly though.

    Krems,
Was your last submission you're comparing this one to (60s Special) for the 70s special?
  • KremsKrems Posts: 347 ✭✭
Actually, the first was the 100 card vintage common submission. It was before the 60's special was announced. The second was the 60's special. Both submissions were of 1968's. It just seemed that they were a little tougher on the second lot. I can understand the number of 7's going up because I sent a few more cards that were borderline, but I thought there were a handful of 9's in there as well and there were none. The first submision I thought there was a handful of 9's as well and there were over 20 out of 100. Way more than I thought. I'm not complaining though because there were plenty of 8's to keep me happy and the two still average out nicely.

    Guys,

How can they put all attention on the specials and hang the other guys I was loving it when it was 2 weeks at tops now its starting to look gloomy again. Can't move cards when their hot also takes forever to build your set. I myself buy and sell to build my own preference of sets. I was sending in 2 submissions a month of 150+ plus cards now I'm waiting on cards to turn to buy more. Is their a shortage of qualified graders or don't they care.

Should read: "Is there a shortage..."

I digress -- it is obvious that PSA cares a GREAT deal about their customer service levels. (see proper use of the word "their") One only reference Joe and BJ's recent posts to understand this point.

Everyone wants their grades and cards as quickly as possible. There will always be a variance in turnaround times. As long a your cards are there when their submission rate dictates then you have no beef really.

    There you have it.

I digress this your talking to a 14 yr old and if you wan't to spell check every thread I write, go ahead. Because last time I checked I wasn't writing the president. Oh, if you wan't to act as my teacher, go write ahead because I never claimed to be a english major. I hope my grammer offends you in the future so go right ahead and correct everyone of my papers....Psss don't ever call me out again because I'll sick my 65 collection on your backside and that will make you sick. Later, Matt

    Matt,

Sorry you took offense. We practice alot of humor around here. No harm was intended. Your post did indicate only two options for your situation -- those both being negative to PSA. I don't think your delay is a product of either a lack of customer service or a lack of quality graders.

Either you intended that or you didn't. Thats the way it read.

The thread was not to rip on psa at all, I'm sure they have enough to deal with. My intention was to see if everyone areed with the theory of if it takes 2months to get your cards. Thats just 2 months that psa will wait for another submission from an ordinary joe. Most people won't send another till they sell what they sent or at least see. Anybody that's selling is always gonna go bulk at 6.00. I'm not going to pay 8.00 to cut 15 days. It's probably not even gonna matter...Hence hire more graders turn more cards make more money. Keep moral high no drifting customers.

    psa1965topps,
I thought it was funny... some people can't laugh as easily as others

(but in Gator's defense... there SHOULD BE a Spellcheck on the message board!)

    Oh,

I can laugh with the best of them. Second time I've seen him do this. It's evident we do have a spel checker on the board. Thanks 65image

  • gator - It wasn't too long ago that people would have been very happy to have received their cards back in two months. They do care, and that is why they came up with the guaranteed turn around for the different service levels. You have to be prepared for them to take as long as the turn around time that you pay for. If you are sending in the newest flash in the pans, then time is of the essence, and the extra couple bucks to guaranty that it gets back to you before they've cooled down may be worth it. You can also make it a point to send out smaller orders every week, rather than saving stuff up, so you will always have something coming back every week.

On the last 2500 I sent in, it was about 250 per week starting with the second week for about 10 consecutive weeks.

I knew there was a reason Z needed his daughter's suitor to be educated. . .so in addition to taking over ZAG when the time comes, they can read the "Hooked On Phonics" manual to him

    GATOR5,

I am a collector and submit 2000-2500 cards every 3 months at the quarterly Ft. Washington,Pa. show. I pay them when I submit the cards.
Do not recall posting on Sosa.
  • Hey

Don't laugh.....I freely admit to needing all the help I can get.

I do have another daughter that requires a qualified suitor. However, this one makes a healthy income, no tuition drain on Dad's pocket, therefore not a priority at this time.

    Davalillo,

So those are all of you sets listed on the registry? Are you trying to collect evey set in existance?

    What an amazing collection!!

    Alfiewt,

Right now in process of submitting baseball commons 1959-1968. Will then turn to fotball commons 1959-72 and baseball 1969-72 and ultimately early 70s basketball and hockey. I have virtually all of these sets cmplete ungraded.
Main focus though continues to be key pre-war baseball sets, the bowman and topps sets 1948-57 and some of the early footbal and basketball sets--all of these in psa 8 or better.
