  • No junk hoops hiding in a spare room?

  • Actually I do. I use it as a conversation piece. I explain to people how I saw it advertised in SCD for something like $300 and when I called, the dealer informed me that the product was very popular and that it was now $500. A real boiler room operation. I was 24 years younger then and fell for it. I don't do that anymore. Love this hobby....
  • I know your pain!! But at least you still have a sealed case that will never be a complete loss. This was one of my favorite sets as a kid, and I'm trying to build this in pristine condition front and back.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started

  • You are correct about the sealed case aspect. Who knows. I really enjoyed this set as well. A nice design and one of the first sets of top-notch quality. It really helped basketball cards. At the time, you could buy '80/'81 Topps and '86 Fleer pretty cheaply which then seemed to take off. Have to believe the Hoops demand helped. The quality of the cards creates a dilemma for grading (pop report linked below). The star cards have tons of 10's while the common cards appear unwanted. I have thought about grading a set but that's roughly $2,000 to $2,500 in fees. Anyway, good luck with your search. I occasionally see these on eBay. If you're putting together a set, you might do it far more cheaply with boxes from unsealed cases. They will have been searched for the Robinson card but everything else should be there at a pretty nice discount. - Kevin M.
