SGC to PSA crack and submit

So I cracked out my first SGC card and sent it to PSA. It was graded 7 by SGC so I was hoping to get it back at least a 6.5 by PSA. Card receives evidence of trimming designation and now I'm wondering if I should re-submit or send it back to SGC. Anyone have cards sent back with evidence of trimming and then graded the second time around? Just looking at my options. Card is still at PSA so I cannot scan, but just wondering how often does the card get graded the second time around. You would figure SGC of all other grading companies would detect trimmed cards.

Give it a shot, I've had both say trimmed, and both slabbed..both ways!

I have had a card go from SGC 3 to PSA trimmed, back to SGC where they said it was trimmed, where it went back to PSA where it got a '5.5'. That was the end of my crackout game.

I have had PSA do that to me a number of times. That's why they are #1...they see things others do not. Beckett will probably give it a 9...lol

Just curious: Why do you say SGC would detect trimmed cards better than PSA?

I had a self submitted card go from a 7 to 'evid trim' to an 8. I was confident it was an 8 from the start. It only took the graders three chances to get it right!

I've taken three tries to get my own pack pulled card into a 9, after a trimmed and an n6. If you know its good, it sucks, but resub.

I meant SGC compared to GAI, BGS, etc. I wasn't comparing them to PSA, but they have a superior reputation compared to those companies I just mentioned when it comes to grading sheet cut cards and trimmed cards. I would rather just buy PSA graded cards and be done with it, but I just thought I would try it once and see how it works out. Hopefully the second time around the card gets slabbed.

You cracked it out of an SGC case because you want it holdered by PSA, I say resubmit to PSA. I like SGC, prefer PSA, but think SGC does a fine job. Yes, I have had a EOT card get graded by PSA:

15368342 N1: EVIDENCE OF TRIMMING 1961 TOPPS 81 DAVE MIDDLETON
    15933703 NEAR MINT-MINT 8 1961 TOPPS 81 DAVE MIDDLETON

15368382 N1: EVIDENCE OF TRIMMING 1993 SP 279 DEREK JETER FOIL
    15933697 NEAR MINT-MINT 8 1993 SP 279 DEREK JETER FOIL

If the grade does not fit, you must resubmit. Scan the card when you get it back.

I think SGC is definitely #2 overall....and their case is so much nicer than PSA. I really love the look when I have the cards on display. I like that they are almost as tough as PSA...my understanding is that they own the Pre-War market, and PSA owns the post-war market up to the refractor/insert/autograph/jersey/autograph 1 of 1 madness...that's where Beckett comes in

I don't think that SGC owns the pre-war market. I would have PSA ahead by just a little.
