Alex Smiths Cards Fail Again...Like the "Chefs"

Epic fail IMO...up 28 in the 3rd quarter and then you lose? Unreal. Alex Smith = Aaron Rodgers wannabe. I know some were crossing their fingers Smith would finally do something...for the sake of his cards. Fail.

  • Uh, Alex Smith's offense put up 500+ yards and 44 points. That's typical of the American sports fan, though. Blame the quarterback while the defense gives up 45 points.

378 yds, 4 TDs, and no Picks is a fail?

Putting up 44 pts in a road playoff game with Jamaal Charles on the bench is a fail?

He lost, but he will hve outperformed Kaep by a mile this weekend. Blame his D.

Yeah, blaming Alex Smith is like blaming the cleanup hitter when a team blows a 7-0 6th inning lead and loses 8-7.

    Blame his D.

    +1

You can't win if you can't stop the other team from scoring, no matter how good your QB is.

  • Arod's defense is not much better...but during the 2 minute drill....arod doesn't take the grounding. Stop blaming the defense. Luck's D wasn't much better....and when it counted, he connected.

Did you see the play? Had he not taken the grounding penalty, he'd have been sacked. That's on the protection up front. He never had a chance.

Then, on 4th down, he put the ball right where it needed to be and Bowe steps out of bounds (granted he was pushed).

The Chiefs actually played extremely well offensively considering that their best player BY FAR was knocked out of the game in 1st quarter.

Put the blame where it belongs--on KC's putrid defense, not Alex Smith. You give up 35 second half points, you don't belong in the playoffs. Period.

So the only person on the team responsible for winning is the quarterback? Do you have any idea how badly you are coming across as a marginal sports fans who really doesn't understand the game? Alex Smith did his job better than anyone on Kansas City's team.

I feel bad for the Chiefs but the reality is their defense is not good and blew it. They also had a super easy schedule this year.

It's not fair to criticize the Chiefs defense when the Colts D gave up 1 less point. There was no D in the game period. At any rate fault the Chiefs coaching staff. Up by 14 and 21 points multiple times in the 3rd quarter and they are passing the football at will. I don't care if Charles is hurt, if you milk the clock there's no chance the Colts can come back.

It's the same reason why Denver lost to the Patriots a handful of weeks back after being up 24-0 at the half. DEN/KC are coming out shotgun formation with a big lead and taking 2-4 minutes off the clock per drive. Sure if you score it's blowout, but there's no reason to even give the other team a chance.

Sad to say but this is the new NFL!! They want flag football,no defense, not allowed to hit anyone and every incomplete they beg for flags. All these passing and receiving records will be broken in a few years time. I am routing for Carolina or Seattle because they have a defense. To blame Smith is crazy, it is the coaching and lack of defense on both teams. Dallas did the samething against GB and got blasted and rightfully so. Their defense was so bad that a 24 point lead wasn't good enough and felt they had to put up a bigger lead, that's crazy but that's the new NFL. I personally don't like how football is becoming but with all the fantasy geeks I guess it's here to stay!!
