88 card sets issued in both US and UK

Those are tough cards, commonly referred to as 'UK minis'. Centering is typically atrocious, chipping can be an issue on the backs, and the gum peels paper off of one side of the card (88 backs and 89 fronts if I remember correctly) in each pack. I opened a box of each a year or so ago and had a hard time putting a decent set of each together with all the cards that went immediately in the trash. I have doubles of most if you need any to wrap up a set.

Thanks. Have both sets done. Also have the Tiffany version of the 88 set. SCD did not list one for 89

Awesome, I've never seen the 89 Tiffany and don't believe they produced one. Mind me asking how much you paid for the 88?

I think around $ 35 in the early 90s

I was always told that they made Topps Tiffany sets from 1984 to 1991. They didn't make any in 1989?

Regular Topps, yes, the UK Topps American Baseball, no.

But Topps also had special edition Tiffany sets in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

I picked up my '88 Tiffany American Baseball set for $21.

Even that estimate appears to be on the higher end. Here's one that sold for $5 plus shipping.
