Vintage Concert Tickets

Those tickets are cool! I have a bunch, too. Sold a Led Zeppelin ticket through PWCC, and got over $100 for it.

Here's a little info on your Zeppelin ticket you may or may not have known..............

The first time Led Zeppelin played San Francisco, they opened for Country Joe & the Fish; just three months later, they headlined four nights at Fillmore West and Winterland. BG170 was unlike any other Led Zeppelin poster or, in fact, any other poster in the BG series. Artist Randy Tuten had tired of seeing blimps in every Led Zeppelin advertisement, so he came up with the green avocado. Tuten liked it so much he "... wanted to do one a month that way- a series of crazy fruit posters."

I have heard PSA will not encapsulate Ticketmaster tickets ? Is this considered a ticket master type ticket, I wondering if they would consider slabbing these as a lot of 80's concerts were like this

When I do decide to send in the tickets do you think I should go with grades or just authentic ? Generally I feel the tickets are in good condition and may garner at least NM-7 grades.
Could some of you eagle eye's out there help me out and give me an opinion of what you think the tickets would grade ? Thanks !

Love those vintage tickets, from the 60's especially. I've looked through the ones on Wolfgang's Vault many times but have never pulled the trigger on any. May have to!

You've got some awesome tickets in those pics. Your Celebrity Theatre stub caught my eye so I thought I'd post a few pics as well. I collect Van Halen memorabilia and have done so since the 7th grade (1982). I have a book of over 500 tickets from Van Halen. I put them in 6 pocket pages and keep them in order by date. I also have separate books for David Lee Roth solo years, as well as Sammy Hagar pre/post Van Halen.

If anyone has any VH stubs they'd like to sell or trade then please let me know. As you can see, my username reflects my VH interest, but a lot of people don't get it.

    Thanks for sharing your pics!!

The Fillmore ticks are incredible Barry.

    Super graphics for a ticket.

I know you've seen the posters from those events.

If I were a collector? The Fillmore posters would high on my wantlist!

The posters usually go for some big dough. And I don't know if the wife would let me put it on the wall or not. I had a replica Grateful Dead poster in my room when I was a teenager(The Skeleton with the Roses in it's hair) I'm sure most people are familiar with it, I think I saw an original one @Wolfgang's Vault for over $50,000.

    << <i>ahhh Zeppelin 77 sweet!!

Most definitely - Rhoads early Ozzy tour - A friend of mine got his friggin little video recorder in there and recorded a bunch of stuff from the front - No sound though so for weeks we then synched up recordings to the video to 'somewhat' make a real recording Ha ! It was a very cool concert.

The Zep was unbelievable - I was very young - 12 but in to them already 0 No opening band and Zep showed up 90 minutes late - The things I remember the most are Kashmir lights going to the music, Plant getting mad at the spinning light in front of him and him kicking it - and Page losing his foot pedals in the fog machine smoke and crawling on the ground to find them - friggin classic stuff image
  • zep33zep33 Posts: 6,897 ✭✭✭
    still got the video?

Think I have a bootleg audio of that show

  • buntbunt Posts: 625
Zep - negative on still having the video - long long we'll say 'snort friend' if I may say that here image (oh come on it's been 20 years) BUT if you are actually talking about the Phoenix show then - I do have some up front pictures I took - Used to wear 2 inch heel steel toe boots to the shows those days and 'ensure' I got up front image - Would glaldy send you copies of the good shots - The friggin security back then was somehwat weak - snuck 35mm camera parts- stshed like under my 'honies' , in the boots - etc If you were at that show -actually in Phoenix - I promise these pics are from that show PM an address or email and I'll send them over -

    Hey Bunt,

Do you have any photos, audio, or video from the Phoenix Van Halen shows? Especially the Roth era ones? I have 09/28/81 on audio, and some of the Hagar era shows, but the early Roth years are tough finds.

What an odd lineup. I can't imagine ZZ Top fans being too enthusiastic about T. Rex.

They've had some funny ones over the years. Rush was once the opening act for Blondie and got booed off stage not surprisingly....also Kool and the Gang opening for Van Halen

I'm looking for any VH shows I don't already have, including alternate sources, as some may be better than others.
