Birthday/Christmas rip!
![Big80s](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/big80s_thorpe2.jpg)
Good afternoon, Friends!
I've noticed a couple of other board members do an annual Christmas rip - and I thought it was a great idea. Since my day of birth happens to fall on the 24th - it's a double whammy for me. I purchased a couple of packs from BBCE: 1970 Topps Basketball (series 2) wax pack and one 1980 Topps Basketball pack. I had ordered some other big packs from Fritsch on Dec 3rd, in hopes of having them to open tonight, but apparently the check I sent is still clearing. So I'm gonna rip these two basketball packs tonight, and I'm gonna rip them hard!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

<< <i>Thank you, fellas! We've got some family festivities planned, and then when everyone else is asleep - I'll do some rippin. Stay tuned! >>
Good luck! Can you tell who is showing thru the back of the 1970 pack?

Oscar Robertson All Star #114 is showing.

Happy birthday and good luck!

This rip just got very expensive and most likely the best card has a wax stain. If available, you might want to grab another pack to rip.
Good luck on the rip

It's facing out - so the wax stain is manageable. And I didn't pay any extra for the card showing (thank you, Steve Hart) - it was a surprise. While common sense would tell one to keep it sealed, this one is destined for rippage.

Let's just say it was the opposite of a "hot" pack...
I hope to have better luck with the next pack!
Jeff
This was the only card showing...
Calvin Murphy HOF RC! Two cards two HOF'ers. Not bad. Both cards are clean and sharp, but centering is a little off.
So far - this Bill Bradley card has the nicest centering of all. It looks dynamite in-hand.
Jeff
And the gum card...
Overall, this was a blast to rip. JMoran is a freaking wizard, and even though (spoiler alert) he predicted half of the pack - it was still cool to hear what his research showed. Thanks again for all of the bday wishes, guys - and thanks for letting me share the rips. And sorry I couldn't bring home the Pistol Pete rookie!
Merry Christmas!

Don't pay any attention to Tim, he has turned to the dark side. Plus, Jeff has always been a ripper and there is no reasoning with a ripper. Just ask Nikklos.
Jeff, happy belated birthday wishes!!! Glad you got to enjoy some rippage and I'm looking forward to seeing what you got from Fritsch. Perhaps a 1970 Baseball cello?!?

Thank you, Mike!! I don't want to jinx the Fritsch order, but if it ever arrives - I'll be sure to share it. Merry Christmas!

The Robertson looks really nice.
The 80Ts look in good shape.
Merry Christmas!

Thanks Mike! It was a fun one! And the wax came right off the front of the Robertson - so that turned out nicely. Merry Christmas!

Happy belated B-day as well. I guess I'm a lil behind on my reading.
<< <i>That looks like it was a lot of fun Jeff! Congrats on the scores from the 1970 pack.

Fun indeed! I don't know if I'll come out ahead after grading a few of these - but it was certainly a rush!
