Type set updates anyone?

I was wondering if anyone was updating their type set, then I found out! Wm Walser is back at it again. He has bought coins and is back ahead of me in 20'th mixed and also 20'th proof. Way to go Bill! That will keep things interesting for me in the proof area.

I'm in saving mode. Next one will be a big one for me, unless I see a SLQ I can't live without tomorrow. Next planned upgrade will immediately become the most valuable coin in my sets.

I just added a 1917 Lincoln in MS65RD to my 20th Century CS with Varieties (need a shorter name like 20-CS-45). This was the coin I bought from RARCOA last week. Still on the lookout for 2 MS64FH SLQs to reach 100%.

Forgot that I did get a Half Cent off of E-Bay last week that arrived yesterday. That went in the set today.

Looking at what I am selling at the TNA show tomorrow, I should be over halfway to the next piece, and might be able to buy at the end of the month, unless I go for broke. Only have four coins left in the 20th Century CSN sets, which will it be. image

  • Great jobs Brian and Keith!

I recently noticed how strong your gold sets are Keith and you remain at the top of the 20'th Century CS type set too! Happy hunting this weekend...

It sure will be nice to finish that set Brian!

My type sets are inspleep mode for now. I just finished gathering the coins I wll need for the Mint set only coins and need to take a break before I continue on with the 1965 to 1967 SMS coins.

  • That sounds good Bill. A SMS set might be pretty hard, but at least it will be pretty.

The only problem with so many sets is everybody is spreading out! Hopefully some new folks will sign up with new sets. If some newbies are lurking out there come on in and say hello.

    Carl,

I figure I can go two ways, I can sell the contents of my For Sale box and buy several small Type pieces like Seated Half Dimes and Dimes, or I can be patient and go for broke here. I even found the coin that I want to upgrade to. Now it is just a matter of getting the resources ready. And it will boost my set a lot based on the weights.

Of course, if I see a killer Type 1 SLQ this afternoon, all that will go out the window, cause I can afford that upgrade.

  • Hello and welcome Brudd!!

I have a few proof Rooseys. I think a board member had a pretty awesome MS Roosey set at one point, I don't follow those.
  • I also have the "Eye of the Needle" proof modern type set but I've decided to work on that set of rosie's and get to the proof set later. Tried to contact Mitch at Wondercoin about Roosevelts but it seems as is he is a busy guy. but, I do have to admit to lurking in the message boards for a while and having a few laugh's here and there at you guys.

Carl, I see you won that 1911 PR66CAM Liberty Nickel. It is a currently tied with one other for finest known, so it looks like a winner for your set.

  • Thanks for the lead! I imagine there are 67 cams in other dates, or maybe even higher grades will show up! In any case I can't wait to see this one. It is quite an upgrade from my PR 63.
