You might recall I acquired a sterling silver pint mug made by London silversmith Thomas Payne in 1774, and asked the board for help in determining about what a pint of ale would have cost in the American colonies. I believe the consensus was tuppence, give or take:
This week #2 in the collection made her way to me all the way from Gloucestershire. She's an unusually large pint-and-a-half mug from London silversmith John Scofield, hallmarked 1775. I thought you guys might dig it, too:
