I was just searching through these completed Ebay auctions and stumbled across this auction.
Can you tell if this coin is a long nock or something else that may be interesting? Someone obviously saw some value in this one.
What say youse? (sorry I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY lol)

when blowing the picture up on my phone, it looks like PMD behind the nock.
Hopefully when you have this in hand, it will be a long nock.

Looking for PCGS AU58+ 1901-P, 1896-O, & 1894-O
you guys are funny. you don't even need to see the reverse to attribute the 78-s v26
unless that obv is shared with a non 78-s

Perhaps there are other diagnostics (MM position, eye gouges, etc) that others see, but I am no guru on these. In fact, I have a handful of
long nocks that I still cannot attribute and I have the Long nock book and everything lol

<< <i>I agree with Nickcap....this is not my coin, but I am not 100% certain it is even a long nock....looks like it can be PMD to me too. >>
Look at Liberty's eye. There are some visible die chips and spikes in front of the eye that are die markers for 1878-S VAM 26, which is a long nock variety.

Hoard the keys.
<< <i>So what was the verdict? >>
no verdict really because it was not questioned by anyone that is into vamming the 78-s longus nockus'.
