There's quite a few varieties. Yours appears to be the common variety, KM 616.1. These were struck between 1771 and 1785 but all dated 1771. Some are very rare and worth strong premiums, as you have seen on eBay (Krause lists eight varieties but that's not all).

Thanks. I was trying to figure out what was special about some of the higher priced ones on ebay but couldn't tell what variety they were. I appreciate the info on my coin.

    Hi,
this is a very special coin from Denmark.
Struck under King Christian VII in period 1771 - 1785
The coin was struck at 3 places: Copenhagen, Altona (Germany) and Kongsberg (Norway)
Is have a own book trying to discribe all varietys about this coin.
Most are about the dots (1 or 2 between M K) or writing Errors like DANSKE, DNASKE, DANAKE
Also variety about the two "C" like the endings are in a dot or line.
Also overstruck on a swedish 1 Öre coin.
And at last a funny note about the coin.....in denmark they call it "P u s s y coin" because of the grafic from both letters "C"

    ;-)

    A nice coin!
