Not at $80, you can pick a graded one up for less than that.

Pass on it. Baseball card exchange has them for $65.00 and the pack will not be tampered with.

I'd pass at even half that price for a pack in an antique store.

  • One positive experience in this industry which is becoming more rare..is that I bought 75 mini packs at an ave of $37 a pack, probably a year ago, from a private seller on eBay. I know I know. But after back and forth, feedback etc seemed like a nice guy and a very legit story.
First pack..Nolan Ryan PSA 8!! Then a Lynn rookie, Aaron, maybe a Carter rookie and a lot of other stars. All great condition. These were obv fresh.

    So it can happen.

Also, it's an antique store...haggle. Theyve prob been there awhile. Maybe you could get them at 55-60 a pack. I'd buy one, see the condition then maybe some others.
  • Same guy also had 24 1979 opc baseball packs for $20 each. I had the guy working open the case for a better look and they looked mint and not tampered with. The wrapper was tight and corners were sharp. I offered him 15 apiece if I bought them all and he would only do 17.50 so I walked away. He had some nice stuff and the shop owner said the guy does a lot of business.
    Thanks for the advice.

Wow, I would grab them. Do it before someone else starts tampering with the contents of the case. Some day you'll be telling the story about how you passed on a $2.50 difference. It if was really a factory sealed case, go for it!

Sorry for the confusion I meant to say display case. But the packs looked as thou they just came out of the box. I left him my number maybe he will call me later if he doesn't sell them

$20 for raw 79 OPC wax packs is no bargain. In fact, neither is $17.50, so I wouldn't feel too bad.

That was my booth! I got the call at church this morning on your offer. The mini is from a group break here. I bought two, opened 1 and got an Aaron which I subbed. I figured I got my hit so decided to sell the other one. The 79 OPCs come from a full box I purchased years ago. I still have 3 packs and the empty box at home. The three packs you can see stars showing through so I kept those and decided to just sell the rest. I also opened a few. Most were OC and no Ozzie so I stopped ripping. Feel free to PM me if still interested. If we can do a private deal I can come down a bit. The antique store I have that booth in takes 10%.

  • Also have an original 1 owner 1976 Topps box with 10 unopened packs......guaranteed fresh, bought locally from the owner's father who bought them in 76. That is a tough box I hear. Best offer on those.
