E-mail address to contact eBay

I guess eBay has changed their layout a bit to where it's almost impossible to find a way to contact them. Does anyone have a good E-mail address to report a problem? There is some obvious shilling going on. I have become the high bidder because the top 2 bidders retracted (what a coincidence! image) and there's no way I am buying that card. Anyway, what's a good E-mail address to contact eBay?

I don't know that they offer an email anymore. My last interactions have all been through chat, phone, or by submitting information through their web form.

wait a sec. you placed a bid based on what you wanted to pay and now it's too much because two other guys backed out? why did you bid what you bid in the first place? just curious. and not condoning the behavior either.

    Very good question

It's one of the most "in your face" and obvious cases of shilling I've ever seen. If I follow through on buying the item for what I bid, he wins. His shilling scheme works out perfectly as he currently has my highest number. I do want the card and am chasing it on another auction, which brings me to the 2nd reason I will not buy it...I only want one and if I win the other one as well I have no need for the card

pretty much sums it up. remember, i'm not here to be your accuser, however, you've placed your own bid in good faith regardless of what anyone else does.

if i as a dealer knew that you were bidding on my stuff and then complaining about something which theoretically doesn't affect your rights as a bidder, i'd wonder about you, not them.

the auction has yet to end and someone else could still outbid you, which clears you of your obligation. assuming you want to lose. then the statement i quoted from you doesn't add up.

just sayin'. good luck, too. i hope you do get your card.

I don't think Todd would mind at all if a legitimate bidder or bidders would drive his bid price up, but if the seller is artificially doing so, he doesn't have to wonder about them because the seller IS them.

  • I think you will probably just have to take a non paying bidder strike.

i agree and wouldn't doubt for a second that people are capable of such tactics, but where is burden of proof presumed to be? by placing a bid Todd inherited the responsibility of honoring it.

if his suspicions are correct, he should retract his own bid and never go back to that dealer again.

    Agreed.

Understand the concern, but it would be just as easy to retract your bid and ignore the seller in the future.

On the other hand, if the other "bidders" bailed and it is at a price you'd be willing to have paid without all of the shenanigans, why not just see if the bid holds up. Had the other bidders not been there, would you be comfortable with your bid?

Yes, but as I said I moved on and pursued this card elsewhere. My interest level in the card is gone because I already picked one up elsewhere. And I hate being shilled. It's garbage.

I called eBay and there's nothing they can do. The auction ends today and it is too late to retract. All I can do is contact the seller
