How many of you out there collect Bo Jackson cards?

I would just like to find out about how many people out there collect Bo Jackson cards. I have spoke with a handful of Bo collectors over the years and got to know some really cool people that have the same collecting interests as myself. So if you collect Bo Jackson please chime in and maybe we can help each other out with our collections. Thanks.

  • I know Bo's come back to life here of late hobby wise with new documentaries about his life and collectors that appreciate his genuine overall talent but when it comes to the hobby every time I think about Bo I think about Beckett's old hot/cold list and how he dominated the cold forever. Judging by these boards though he has a very loyal following.

Love Bo Jackson, and collected him a bit as a kid, but outside a few cards, I don't think I'd wanna get into collecting him too much. Not that I wouldn't want to, just have too many other mini projects going on right now to concentrate on many more.

If I see an 87 Donruss or Fleer RC in the 3 for a dollar box, I am buying. Same goes for 86 Topps/Donruss/Sportflics.
Kiss me once, shame on you.
    Kiss me twice.....let's party.
  • First and foremost, I despise any and all things Auburn. Watching a replay of the kick six from this year's Iron Bowl feels like someone just took a ten pound hammer and hit me with it in the John Henry. With that caveat said, I think the 87 Classic Bo is one of the coolest cards of all time. Btw, I like Bo much more when he goes the wrong way in lieu of when he goes over the top!

I think Bo is really one of the coolest and classy individuals. I met him two years ago when Bo Bikes Bama came thru my hometown. They rode the path of the EF5 that killed 35 in a matter of minutes in my home town. If there is a third annual BBB, I will most likely attempt to ride in it, especially if it is anywhere near Rainsville.

  • I'm a fan of his cards.

I bought a box of 88 topps football jumbo cellos a few years ago. I think it was only $20 or $22. I was genuinely excited pulling Bo rookies, that was a pretty iconic card back in the day. Does anyone remember the 89 score football supplement black and white bo?

Also there was a 90 Classic Nolan Ryan holding Bo card I believe. Those were fun days. A lot of cross promotions, everyone seemed to know Bo.

I think people like him now because he was so unique. There's been no one like him since, even though training, conditioning, etc has gotten better. He had a very unique skill set.
