Newest Pickup 1955 Bowman Aaron. How is this not a PSA 6.5?

Bought from Kurtz Cards. He had on ebay and sold to me off ebay using Paypal Gift and gave a nice discount.

Great Transaction by the way. Very happy with card and can't figure out why its not a 6.5!!

Looks real nice and I agree with you ... depending on one thing. What is going on with the right border, just below the word "right", on the reverse?

Thanks Doug. I noticed that too before I bought it. Actually looks like a loose piece of debris. I can tell it is not damage to the card.

  • That is a beautiful card. Graded accurately due to the upper right corner (as pictured) but extremely high end as everything else about the card appears rock solid and at least NM-MT.
  • That's a great candidate for a bump in my opinion. Great color, centered right sharp all over but one corner. Looks extremely close to an 8 I have. Either way that year is tough and that Aaron's a beauty.

If the grade does not fit, you must resubmit.

  • Looks like a strong 5 to me.

Really a sharp card. The front looks NM+, back upper left corner looks kind of weak.
I bet that lowered the overall grade. Your card's front actually looks better than many 8's out there
of the same card. I'd be very happy with that buy.

You remind me of that time when I was a kid and got poison ivy on my knob.

I won't get into the grading debate, as my eye's aren't that sharp, but imo you got a great card. Congrats.

PSA has been accused of being inconsistent with grades. When it comes to the half grade I am not sure all the graders are even aware of it. I have always bought well centered cards. My submissions sometimes come back with no half grades at all. I thought that was one of the big reasons they added the .5 to reward cards that were at the high end of the grade, especially if well centered.

Crack it out and send it in, but remember the word "inconsistent". I agree with most here card is undergraded, but I am not real familiar on how they deal with 55 Bowmans. They are INCREDIBLY hard on the 62 Topps as far as I am concerned. Actually seems to me that they are tougher on all the dark bordered years.

Good luck if you send it in!

To be honest with you, with all that black stuff going on in the left hand border, I am surprised it didn't get the (PD) qualifier. Like others, I love the corners and the front, but with what is going on in the left hand border, I would probably leave well enough alone.

Really nice card, and the PSA half grades are really a mystery so it is hard to say what makes a 6.5 vs. a 6.

Very nice! But, with the one corner and the border thing, I would not resubmit.
