Help me understand, PSA collectors club membership question.

Several years ago when I was a collectors club member I was under the impression that you must be a member to submit items to PSA.

I'm looking to submit just a couple of items and find that "non members" are allowed to submit items at the same rate. (has this always been the case?)

Help me understand, beyond the free submission vouchers and books/smr magazines, are there any advantages of being a member if I dont have a need to submit more than 2-3 items a year?
I understand a member can also take advantage of monthly specials.

With that being said my focus has turned to ticket full/stub collecting.
Can I use those free vouchers on tickets?

I thought i'd throw this out to the board members before calling PSA customer service.

Thanks.

  • Nope no real reason to for 2 or 3. There are always people you can piggy back too

Non-CC members can't send in items on the monthly specials. But as stated above, you can always piggyback with someone when you see a special you like.

The free ugly blue tote bag was the only reason I renewed again last year.
  • Wait, this is news to me. You can submit cards to PSA for grading and not be a member?

Not on the monthly special rate, though. Just the regular rate.

Their FAQ says you have to be a member.

    http://www.psacard.com/Resources/FAQ/
Q: How much does it cost to get cards graded by PSA?
A: You must be a Collectors Club member to submit cards directly to PSA. Once a member, the fees to have cards graded vary by the type of cards, values, quantity submitted and turnaround time. Please visit our Submission Center to view our complete Fee Schedule for PSA Services.

I don't have the link at the moment as I write from the office but there is a submission form link that states for "Non members" submissions. This form is clearly stated on the PSA site.

Thus my question, does one need to be a member to submit cards or tickets? At the regular rate/cost.
