Peyton Manning's march into the season TD record books.

Through 13 games Peyton has thrown for 45 TD's and needs 5 to tie Tom Brady's 2007 record.

He could and he should tie or break the mark, but a couple of mediocre or worse games and he may not.

Has the record been diminished with the recent feminization of the game?

I predict that if he starts the next three Denver games and takes the majority of snaps in those games PM will end the season with between 52-56 touchdown passes (he has 45 now and needs between 7-11 more in the next three games; and he is averaging 3.46 TD passes per game through games 1-13).

He could break the record of 50 next week v. San Diego. If not against San Diego in game 14 then most likely against Houston in game 15.

He will also very easily top 5,000 yards for the season and if he really lights things up the next three games he could end up btween 5,500 and 6,000 yards for the year.

He has a great receiving corp to throw to (J. Thomas, D. Thomas, W. Welker and E. Decker), the offensive line has been giving him adequte time to throw and the running game has stepped up a notch to where it poses a legitimate threat to the defensive team that they have to play the receivers honest. Mix it all together with PM's skill set and you have an offense that is averaging a tick under 40 points per game.

The above said, I really think that any notation of PM in the statistical record book for TD's thrown and for passing yards must both be marked with a two big, pink asterisks. The league is intent on promoting passing and high scores. Rules have been changed to promote the passing offense. Whether this constitutes a "feminization" of the game is beyond my pay grade.

However, the neon pink shoes, towels, wrist bands, helmet stickers, etc. is just too much for me and my eyes. Enough of the pink colors already. Support breast cancer research all you want to but stop blinding me with neon pink colors.
