Bowl Games 2013-2014

A few match ups I wish were different, a few with intrigue but overall WAY too many games. My gosh!

I think the national championship game should be good. Not sure if Auburn can slow down FSU but should be a barn-burner.

I would have much rather seen Oregon v. Alabama than Oklahoma. Or Ohio State v. Alabama. I am not very excited about the prospects of Alabama beating Oklahoma even worse than USC did in that national championship game 8 or 9 years ago. Will be ugly I think.

How do Iowa and Wisconsin get a New Year's Day game? The Big 10 sucks but they get more new year's day games than anybody!?

I wish they didn't have the crappy games after Jan 1. Godaddy and Compass should be BEFORE new years not after. Make those last few games unique and special. Don't clutter it with crappy games.

Agree. Crappy games should end in 2013. Jan 1 and beyond should be top matchups only.

If anything the pac 12 sucks. Big ten has 2 teams in the top 7. I think big ten wins 4-5 bowls this year. They are a stronger conference than last year.

Yep. There were 6 or 7 games on Jan 1.....and then it was over!

This game is going to be like Duran vs. Leonard
No rope a dope in this game.

Not sure if FSU can slow down Auburn either.

Pac12 sucks? LOL outside the SEC it's the best conference talent wise in the NCAA.
  • Only one pac 12 team made a BCS bowl.

I'm a little surprised that OSU is favored over Clemson +2

I'm not surprised that Stanford is favored by -4.5 over Michigan State

Wisconsin is actually a decent team and playing South Carolina will be a good match up

Im not surprised about Stanford being the favorite.. They beat 7 ranked teams and have the home-field advantage.

I think OSU will have a hard time being up and ready to play. I would make MSU either a very slight favorite or call it a toss up.

Is there anything more embarrassing than playing in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl? LMAO!!

Yes. How about playing in the Sugar Bowl because your coach made a bonehead decision or playing in the Orange Bowl because your defense couldn't cover Tim Conway cutting over the middle.

I would be cranky too if my team was 24-1 over the last two seasons and not a whiff of center stage.

Counted about 35 bowl games this year. Holy Smokes.

That means 45 teams are not in the top 25.

Well, their bowl is the only one that day, so everyone will be watching.

Their only top ten opponent in two years resulted in a loss so I'd say they're right here the belong.

If they win, they will finish in the top 5. Possibly top 3.

I can't wait for the excuses when OSU loses, I wonder if we'll see soundgard again until next year?

So if auburn loses, then I guess that means they didn't deserve #2 by your logic.

No, because Auburn actually played some real competition this year, not the cupcakes that OSU played!

I'll be impressed if Auburn can contain FSUs points in double digits.

FSU played (and beat) 2 top 10 teams. OSU lost to the only top 10 school they played. You lose, just like OSU. And *that's* how you make it to the national title game. Maybe OSU will grow some stones and actually schedule some tough competition - but I doubt it!

Florida State beat Clemson 51-14 at Clemson/Death Valley

Therefore Ohio State should have absolutely no problem with Clemson on a neutral site right?

My point was the Big ten sucks and everybody, except homers in fly over states, know that. However, you do have better fans than the Pac 12 so you get the new year's day games. It's all about money. Stating the Pac 12 sucks is irrelevant to my post. You are entitled to your opinion. I think Sagarin would disagree and he gets paid to give his opinions unlike you. However, since you bring it up I would rather watch #10 Oregon beat Texas by 50 then watch unranked Iowa team on NY Day and I like Iowa but come on. Or how about two top 25 teams ($C v. Fresno)!? Or ASU who is top 15 or UCLA who is 17th. However, none of them get NY day bowls. Instead we get unranked Iowa, unranked Nebraska, and barely ranked Wisconsin. Just seems strange. I prefer a new years day of semi-meaningful top teams.

I doubt Stanford will have the home field advantage. I have been to many Rose Bowl games and even when UCLA or U$C was in it the Big 10 managed to come out in flocks to watch some football and see that yellow thing in the sky that they haven't seen in a while. The crowd will be about 50/50 I am sure.

Maybe, but there are other factors than just the crowd. Its a LOOOONG road game for Michigan state, and a backyard brawl for Stanford.
