Turnaround times

I am on day 51 of a submission and just called to find out the status. I was told that we should expect a turnaround time of at least 60 days now. Am I the only one who is frustrated that the grading times have slowed down dramatically while the grading prices have gone up?

It's frustrating but at the same time I understand the economics of it for PSA. Unless subs go down no reason to change the model. I just plan on 3 months now from the time I mail and throw an order a month at them to keep my supply coming. The value they provide can't be understated. When you can take cards that don't sell for $2 and turn them into $30-$40 cards routinely with good grades it's worth the wait.

I have one that logged Oct. 1. Most of my subs from last spring popped in a week or 2, this is the first time it's been so long.

The one good thing they did is went to a model where you are charged once your order is processed.

  • I have a 50 card sub that was logged on 09/25...still nothing yet. My turnaround times have always been really good for the most part. 2-3 weeks usually.

Yes. Instead of clicking on my subs 25 times a day, I just wait on the email that tells me my credit card has been charged.

My most recent 2 orders' TAT:

    - 25 items, logged 7/24, popped 11/6
    - 51 items, logged 8/7, popped 11/22

So yeah, don't be surprised if it goes noticeably beyond 90 calendar days...

At some point earlier this year I believe. I like being charged after the services are rendered.

So when the charge hits that means you are getting one step closer?

They dont send an email or any other type of confirmation of what step it is in the process?

When you are charged your cards will be on their way back to you within a day or two.

It is a little random these days. Had two orders logged on 9/20, each with over 500 cards, one popped two weeks ago, one is still waiting. Had three orders logged around veterans day, all three are graded and in hand already. Same service level. It is what it is and I also try to plan accordingly, spacing my orders so inventory comes in a somewhat steady flow.

You get an email when cards are logged and an email when the grades are available. I get an email from my bank within a few seconds of my credit card being charged which is usually a few hours before the emails from PSA.

I submitted a 75 card order at Sun Times and I didn't even count last week. They didn't get back to the office until sometime Monday and I doubt they were even unpacked with the holiday. I wouldn't expect loggage from the show until mid to late next week at the earliest if you subbed on a monthly special.

Is the submission form a contract? That should be the question. I am not an attorney. But i have always wondered.

A business contract creates certain obligations that are to be fulfilled by the people or companies who entered into the agreement. We have to sign the form we send in.

In the eyes of the law, a party's failure to fulfill an end of the bargain under a contract is known as a "breach" of the contract. Depending on the specifics of the contract, a breach can occur when a party fails to perform on time, does not perform in accordance with the terms of the agreement, or does not perform at all.

Accordingly, a breach of contract will usually be categorized as either "material" or "immaterial" for purposes of determining the appropriate legal solution or "remedy" for the breach.

Unless you send in autographs for authentication. I have 250 autographs in and my credit card was billed five weeks ago and they are still not done.

Not a chance. They clearly state times vary with demand.

Maybe it was the size of your order. I have a small order there now and there has been no charge.

If you go dramatically over the suggested wait time make sure you ask for something in return. Last time I went over I got 2 $50 grading vouchers. They then mistakenly sent back my order express instead of ground so I got the covered as well. I'm in Canada so use my own Fed Ex account to have my cards shipped back.

It clearly states varies with demand. There is no time guarantee. I am sure PSA is quite aware of the law and looked into it to protect their interests.

    +1

The verbiage clealy indicates that there are no guarantees and that turnaround times are approximate and/or subject to various circumstances.

I was told about a week ago subs were running about 50 days. Today I was told that suddenly they are running 60 days. I'll be afraid to ask next week . . .

    Contract as defined by Wikipedia
In common law legal systems, a contract is an agreement having a lawful object entered into voluntarily by two or more parties, each of whom intends to create one or more legal obligations between them. The elements of a contract are "offer" and "acceptance" by "competent persons" having legal capacity who exchange "consideration" to create "mutuality of obligation."

Proof of some or all of these elements may be done in writing, though contracts may be made entirely orally or by conduct. The remedy for breach of contract can be "damages" in the form of compensation of money or specific performance enforced through an injunction. Both of these remedies award the party at loss the "benefit of the bargain" or expectation damages, which are greater than mere reliance damages, as in promissory estoppel. The parties may be natural persons or juristic persons. A contract is a legally enforceable promise or undertaking that something will or will not occur. The word promise can be used as a legal synonym for contract,[2] although care is required as a promise may not have the full standing of a contract, as when it is an agreement without consideration.
