Hey pulled some more of my 81s and wanted to see if any of these stand a chance of 9 or 10s

    They're all 11s. Simply breathetaking.

    imo, the potential 10s are:

    angels team card
    McLaughlin
    claudell
    tigers team card
bevacqua (assuming whatever is on the scan is from the holder, not the card)
    berra
    bombo
    cey (borderline)
    ivie
    oliver
    rangers future stars
    fryman

good luck and let us know the results.

    Thanks,

    David (LD_Ferg)

Anyone of the ones that have a thin boarder on the bottom are not worth submitting.

Buddy Bell (last card) is the only one large enough to really venture a guess in my opinion. I say a 9 but a 10 could happen.

None of the cards centered toward the bottom are going to be 10's.

Choose your 5-10 best and post large scans, simply too hard to see for me.

If you are spending $20k on collections as you say your are and have no clue about grading, you have already wasted $20k.

Save your money and don't grade these. I am sure you have a PSA 10 in the lot but you are going to spend a ton of money on grading for a $7 card. Pick all of those card up off your scanner and put them in a nice Card Saver I. Then get on Ebay and spend $9 to buy a PSA 10 from 1981 Topps.

  • I will give you one little tidbit of knowledge from the 81 Topps set.

Quite a few of the cards you posted are from sheet C. A significant portion of the low pop PSA 10 cards from this set come from sheet C including the Reggie Jackson. Since you insist on mentioning the value of commons, Oberfkell was a zero pop PSA 10 for a long time and happens to be from sheet C. Top to bottom centering is almost always the issue. The only other big low or zero pop PSA 10 cards from this set that are worth searching for (Gibson and Valenzuela) are not from sheet C.
