Kudos to Coin Rarities Online

I want to give massive kudos to John Agre of Coin Rarities Online.

At the point of my first contact with John, he had no idea who I was. I had admired the coins on his website. I had read most of his "Road Report" essays because I love coin shows. These reports caused me to admire John and the way he does business more than his coins themselves.

I emailed John to introduce myself, then followed up the next day with a telephone call. I explained that I had a large hoard of several hundred coins that I wanted to sell or trade for a few higher grades pieces with eye appeal. However, I did not have anything specific in mind from his inventory. He took a lot of time listening to the details of my plan. He agreed to evaluate my coins and sell them, giving me "store credit" for future purchases.

John did not realize how complicated this endeavor would be. He may have come to wish that I had not found him. Yet he was a "gentleman and a scholar" throughout. His work continues on my behalf. At the end of the effort, I see teaming with John to find a few beautiful additions to my collection. He is not only trustworthy and patient, but also someone with whom it is great fun to talk coins.

(No, this is not a paid promotion.) But I encourage every one who reads this posting to allow John to compete for your business.

I'm glad you un-deleted this post. CRO deserves the recognitions on both the lite and darkside. A fantastic and honest dealer to work with.

Very funny comment!! You have a good sense of humor.

I love coins from both sides of the pond. I know what your repsonse will be, but which is which?

Forum nomenclature dictates that this side of the fence is the dark side and the more Americentric forum is the "liteside". I sit somewhere in the middle, living in America, having a US coin collection, but much preferring Ancients over the last few years image

Should never have deleted it in the first place. John is a good person and runs a good business.
I have had multiple PMs from collectors thanking me for reposting my comments.

I've purchased a few 8 Reales over the years from John and he does have an eye for quality. CRO is like a guilty pleasure that I indulge myself with on a rare occasion. You pay a premium, no question about it, but the quality and originality makes up for it, in my view. Never had a transaction with John I was not happy with.
