It's ebay holiday scam time again

Just a reminder to everyone out there to use good judgement and a healthy grain of salt when it comes to making "too good to be true" deals on ebay this time of year. The holiday season brings out the scammers looking for a quick buck.

To kick off the season, I present to you an ebay auction for the most valuable football card in the world - THE 1935 National Chicle Bronko Nagurski PSA 9 - highest graded, POP 1/1.

This $100,000+ card has somehow found its way to Michigan, where it is being sold by the renowned bmk_dxbx8tk6p.

But that's not all. For our seller bmk_dxbx8tk6p is also offering for sale a "MakeBook" Pro and a PS4. Wow! Deals all around.

  • It's entirely plausible that a guy would be trying to drum up some Christmas money by creating a new eBay account and selling a game system, laptop, and $350,000 football card. Tomorrow he is going to list an iPod, some old DVDs, and John Lennon's 1965 Rolls Royce Phantom V. Nothing to see here.
  • Does the real PSA 9 have that horsesh*t centering? Please tell me it doesn't.
'Sir, I realize it's been difficult for you to sleep at night without your EX/MT 1977 Topps Tom Seaver, but I swear to you that you'll get it safe and sound.'

It does. That picture is on Collector's Weekly.
  • I can't believe people are bidding on this joker's auctions.
  • A fool and there money huh, like I always say it baffles me that people would just throw money at a hobby they are obviously so clueless about!? You'd think they'd do a little research
  • It is amazing how someone has no feedback, and starts selling with a Holy Grail in a PSA 9. Too funny!

He would like "350,00" dollars. Anyone have change for 475,00?
  • Reported. That's all we can do.

Since that card was well known..and belonged to Jon Issacson. Lets just assume it real and not fake.....

    Ther'e only 1

Before he sold out all his cards went back to psa and were relabeled personalized Fight4olddc collection on the flip.

So that pic is at least 3 years old.

    I'm not sure.

But, considering the guy definitely doesn't own the card?

He conspiring to commit fraud? I can't believe that it's tolerated. I would guess it would never be in some town where people look out for each other.

    That was hilarious!!!
I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!
  • Figured what better to do while recovering from yesterdays food coma than to mess this guy. Just emailed him to find out if he owns it or is selling it for someone else. Also asked if he would accept $100,00 because I have no idea what amount that is.
  • I'd be willing to go $250,00 but would want to see a back scan first.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

  • I asked the seller for a photo or scan of the back of the card. No response...surprise, surprise.
  • So my question to the seller: Wow, amazing card. Do you own this or are you selling it for someone else? I have been looking for this card at a great price forever. Would you consider $100,00?

Sellers Reply Back (word for word): Ay i got your message if you want it ill take your offer. I am selling it and yea i been wanting to sell it for awhile

Must be talk like a pirate day again...

I know the gentleman...he is none other than "Crocodile Dundee". But while we're discussing auctions, I would like to spam a few of mine now. I have 3 major auctions going myself right now at BIN strong prices; but the quality is there. I will list them in order. Happy Holidays and God Bless. And yes I will accept cash in a plain white envelope and PAYPAL gift. The items are as follows.

    1. 2002 Pikachu Pokemon card. BIN $5.00

    2. 1984 Atari "Combat" game. BIN $3.00 I have seen these go as high as $3.75, so you're getting a real steal

    3. 1968....the original leather suit that Elvis wore in the 68 Comeback Special (PSA) not SGC or BVG. BIN or Best Offer $3,000,000.00 image
  • The seller of this card sent me a photo of the back, and asked how much I was willing to pay. I'm going to offer 2k, just to mess with him. I have too much free time on my hands today I guess.

The auction is at $1,025 with 6 hours to go, someone is going to be disappointed.
  • He told me that he would take $2500 for it and end the auction early. It would be a heck of a deal if he actually owned the card.
