BEWARE!!! Fake 1981 Topps Rack Pack w/Montana on top.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this one. Obviously, a pack with Montana, Dwight Clark, and Steve Largent on top should send up big red flags.

Here is the kicker though---Montana appears in the far cell of the rack pack----which is fine, sometimes the sheet C & D cards appear in the last cell. The red flag, however, is the Steve Largent Super Action card in the first cell is also from sheet C.
That being said, I would say there is a 1-1000000 chance that there was a packaging error at Topps which put sheet C cards in the first, and last cell AND just happened to have a Star on top in both cells AND just happened to have the Dwight Clark rookie showing as the "B" sheet card in the middle cell.

This pack is, unfortunately, going to sell to someone for big bucks, when it has obviously been tampered with. The seller of the pack alone should make educated collectors run for the door.......

    Check out the link above. Notice the Largent in the first cell. Notice how there looks to be damage on the LH edge about half way up the card. Now notice the centering of the card itself as well.

    Now look at the Largent in the Montana pack listed above.

    Any way to see who the buyer was on this pack? I would love to see what this buyer has bought, and compare it to items that bruingirl has sold......

    That's good detective work. I see the smudge on the left hand side of the Largent card. There's also a smaller smudge dot just below that, and both smudges are visible on the Largent card in the completed auction as well, #290999425905.

    Excellent work Black00SS. Just another reason why anyone who buys the crap Bruingirl2007 is selling is a fool.

    It looks like the same buyer recently purchased this - LINK - I'm sure we'll see Bruingirl2007 produce a "3 Pete Rose" '81 rack pack soon.

    Plus - how similar do these two Fouts IA cards look.

    This seller also recently sold a resealed 1980 rack with Ryan and Henderson on top. The endless supply of vintage wax is also suspect as well. Esquiresports offered to buy a full box if she sent him scans of the backs of the packs but she declined even though he was willing to pay a premium for the box because she "liked selling them this way instead."

    I am going through feedback, completed listing etc and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
    Is there any way we can find out who the buyer was on the 3 listing above?
    I would love to know what ebay I'd is doing the buying for bruingirl....and perhaps forward it to the authorities.

    I think if we can get a I'D for the buyer of the above linked packs.....we will see exactly where the endless supply of wax is coming from. After being searched, and resealed naturally

    Just noticed that. The buyer has left GLOWING feedback for Bruingirl.......I don't see a single feedback left by Bruingirl for them however.
    How odd....

    I hope nobody is buying from Bruingirl at this point. I saw some stuff from her/him about six months ago, and had them in my watch list. I usually click on all items for sale when I find a seller that has stuff I want and that sent up all kind of warning flags. After a google search, there were negative posts here and also on net54 and one other site.

    So I stay away.

    stevebay, I would be interested in seeing a scan/picture of the bottom of the rack. These should always agree to the sheets the cards on the top came from.

    She replied, Mike. Acted like she didn't know what I was talking about, and specifically asked me why I felt it was the same card. I just now hit the ball back over the net and asked her to examine both cards and note any palpable similarities. The discourse probably won't amount to much, but let's face it, none of this investigative work is truly necessary. There's a mountain of circumstantial evidence in her completed listings, and that's all anyone needs.

    When something seems too good to be true, it usually is. When something seems too good to be true times a sizable number, you best turn around, walk away and never look back.

    Looks like the pack has been removed from Ebay. I am awaiting conformation from a member to post pictures of a pack he received from bruingirl.

    Shows pretty clearly what she is doing.....

    No, it is not. '81 racks were packaged in reverse sequence from 1978-1980. The low letter A/B sheet cards should be in far section, C/D sheet cards in middle as usual, and E/F sheet cards in header section. The only card in correct section on that rack is the Home Run Leaders card.

    From what I understand, if you hold up this pack up to the sky at a 37.5 degree angle during the next harvest moon a hologram of Mike Schmidt will appear before you. It's a rare variation from 1981 but Bruingirl's father had an extensive collection of rare rack packs (and she doesn't even know how to price them - poor girl).

    Wow, what a prime example of getting greedy to the point of overdoing it. They are creating rack packs that are too good to be true. All they need is an '83 rack with Sandberg, Gwynn, and Boggs on top.

    "She" claims she is selling her father old collection and doesn't know much about cards, but her father always told her rack packs where impossible to be tampered with...Acting like they don't know they are selling bad packs. They have received feedback stating packs are resealed and I know members here and on net54 have sent them messages saying they are bad. I have contacted ebay letting them know the packs are bad but they don't seem to care.

    What a tall tale, lol...I am fairly certain that "bruingirl" and "ohrather" are one and the same, too. The latter has been discussed here before, too.

    Does anyone know where bruingirl is located? ohrather was in Ohio if IIRC.
