Gary Sheffield

Was looking at his stats a bit today, love that 89 topps card. Why no Hall of Fame talk? 2689 hits, 509 HR, 292 BA

Was he ever linked to ped's? That may be why. I always liked Gary. He was always very intense at the plate.
Always looking for OPC "tape intact" baseball wax boxes, and 1984 OPC baseball PSA 10's for my set. Please PM or email me if you have any available.

Sheffield couldnt wait to get out of Milwaukee and later admitted he played like crap in the hopes the Brewers would trade him. I just cant respect a ball player like that and I hope talk of the Hall of Fame never heats up for him.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

This. He admitted he purposely made errors in the outfield in order to get out of Milwaukee. He struck me as kind of a surly individual, but maybe that's just my perception.

  • I doubt he ever gets in. He's been linked to roids. Of course it's about as concrete as what they have on Bagwell and look what the writers are putting him through. If he doesn't get in I wouldn't be upset at all. He meets the so called benchmarks for induction but I don't think those apply anymore.

I guess no one is ever getting into the hall of fame again then .
