The only one I might try is the Ozzie Smith. You will be sorely disappointed with the rest.
  • here are some traded I got last week from the 81s total damage for all 70 dollars

The second Ozzie Smith. All the others show a touched corner, miscut, too OC for high grade, or too much chipping. PSA is absolutely brutal on 81 Topps. I wouldnt send any of the traded in. They all look miscut.
  • yeah i see some have a slight corner touch

I personally have owned many 81s and I think that most your 81s you have shown are about is good as its gets. Many that year were horribly cut.

That is the best centered Fernando I have seen. Not saying it will PSA 9 but beats the 19 Fernandos I pulled from a case and a half by a long shot.

Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases
  • ldferg is spot on. 1981 is just brutal condition-wise.

I had the same experience as 1954. I now have 35 Fernando rookies just sitting
in a box that will never become part of someone's set or be graded.

It was my first, and possibly last, adventure in vending case busting.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the PSA 10 collector he didn't exist.

  • I think the 1st Fernando is pretty good. It has only a minimal amount of the black smudge on the front that is very typical. I think that would be good ROI. I think even an 8 is worth the grading fee.

  • The Dawson is the only one that I believe to be Gem-worthy. But who knows. It's impossible to judge a card on a scan or photo alone.
