Good call on the usuals....Jordan, Griffey, Rickey, etc
Some others of mid-level stars I grew up with and always loved:
1. 1985 Donruss Eric Davis- Coolest action shot. The blur of the crowd as the backdrop and a full swing and follow through by Davis. And it comes from one of the best looking baseball sets of all time. At one time, this card was going to be the next 52T Mantle
I'm not sure I even know why, but I've always loved this card:
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

31986 Donruss Jose Canseco Probably my favorite set of all time considering only presentation. Love the dark blue borders, the fragile edges, the simple but classy look

Same could be said for the Fidrych RC.
FINALLY, somebody mentioned The Bird's first issue -- thanks, Tom! Wow, not until page 3... you guys are slippin'!
Jordan is obviously pretty sweet, but this one is cool, too...
Since it hasn't been shown yet...
and just to reiterate the coolness of this RC...
