1909 MPL cent "easy to indentify the rare Die #2"

The Obverse of Die #2. Notice the group of die lines out about half way between Lincolns eye and the edge of the rim. This will confirm Die #2 obverse.

The Reverse of Die #2. Notice the rather large slanted die line located at the opening of the letter "C" in CENT. Also doubling most prominent on the "TE" of united. This will confirm Die #2 reverse

There was some talk about the "die line" in the C a while back, and several of us collectors noticed that these also show up on some business strikes up and through 1917.

Wouldn't that make it a hub line, or a master die line? Or a master hub line?

Don't know, but we are talking about "Matte Proof cents of 1909" here. This line doesn't show on the 1909 MPL Die1 or the 1909 VDB MPL cents but it does show on the 1909 MPL Die2 coins. Therefore, it is a marker to identify the reverse of the 1909 MPL die2 cents.

It shows in all MPL's, 1909 Die 2 through 1916, but not the 1909 VDB and 1909 Die 1.
