Can anybody tell me what kind of Ike dollar error this is?

Some kind of planchet flaw, sure, but does it have a particular subtype or? Never really seen one like this. Note the corresponding weakness in STATES on the reverse, so it's not PMD. Close up of the rim in the afflicted area is in the third shot there.

Wow. No kidding. For me this is a tough series to photograph for some reason.
The machining could have migrated a bit of the cu-ni cladding out over the end of the copper, where it was then rolled down by the upsetting mill.
