I've been focusing on quality rather than quantity lately regarding my ancient purchases. Saw a lot of nice pieces at the show this past weekend, but I stuck reasonably well to my new focus. Just these two purchases for the most part. Both struck on very large flans and reasonably well matched obv and rev grades.
I finally found a picture setup I like (and with the correct white balance!) for the Nikomedes coin. The lighting is kind of a nightmare on such a high relief portrait. The reverse being concave cup shaped is challenging too.
Bithynia - Nikomedes II Epiphanes 149-127 BC AR Tetradrachm
Roman Provincial - Antioch in Syria Philip II 249 AD, AR/Billion Tetradrachm
