Hey all, new guy to the forum. I've checked it out every once in awhile over the years and finally decided to join up. Definitely a wealth of information, and entertainment, that's for sure. A lot of very knowledgeable people on here and it's nice to see how you try to help each other.
I started just about the time the big boom began in the early 90's, so yep, I've got a lot of "worth less than I paid for stuff" like a lot of people. Mainly baseball and basketball with a little bit of the other sports thrown into the mix. I mainly focused on rookie cards, but unfortunately I would just buy what I could afford at the time without paying a whole lot of attention to corner's, centering, condition, etc. Yeah, I know, not the wisest, but like I said, I bought what I could afford. I did get some nice cards here and there, as well as some older ones from the 50's through 80's, but nothing that I'll ever make it rich on. Still I do get a kick out of looking at the ones I do have so I guess that's what it's supposed to be all about, right?
Also got into the Starting Lineup mix and have quite a few. Luckily I never went crazy with them and basically only paid retail more or less.
So anyway, I haven't done much the last few years and recently decided to maybe get back into collecting. Right now everything is stacked up down in the garage with a few things here in the house readily available. Guess I'll have to figure out how the heck do I catalog what I do have. Or maybe I shouldn't worry about that? I have probably a hundred or so 6 or 8 hundred ct boxes and another hundred or so boxes of Starting Lineups.
Here's my first try at scanning:

Very nice collection. The Molly and Gwynn are nicely centered.
I'm looking forward to your posts.

OMG! That's a lot of cards!
And much SLU's. We're having a discussion on them right now. I also only paid retail or less and don't care what they're worth. It's all entertainment for me.
I have a collection of SLUs too. Once owned 500 SLUs and sold half of them in the early 2000s. Still have a nice collection.

Yeah, I think it was your thread that really got me thinking about coming onboard. Thank you to you sir!
And thanks for all the welcomes so far.
Rookies were the mainstay of my collecting back in the day. It's funny though, I look back on all those rookies that I placed in top loaders, and I think to myself, really, this guy? Guess it just goes to show how really tough it is for players to go from hot shot rookie to HOF'er. Oh well, maybe over time I can scan some more. I'm thinking about sending some in for grading eventually, but after reading some of the threads here, trying to figure out just which ones to send in really is some kind of art. But that's ok, I'll just take my time and learn from you guys.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
