GTG - New Peace Dollar - grade and slab at bottom

I picked this up from a forum member here. Just got it in the mail. I think it's a pretty coin and the toning is quite pleasing. Color is pretty close, has a slight goldish/redish hue to it.

Feel free to GTG or comment (positive or negative). Pics were taken with Iphone, with overhead office lighting. Not the best, but passable.

    I'd call it a 64.

This particular toning isn't exactly for me; but if you like it then image

I'm guessing it's in a 64 NGC holder. I'd see it as a nice MS63 based on the hits to the cheek & neck. I think the toning is pretty neutral - doesn't add, does'nt subtract. Nice luster though.

    Brilliant luster!
If it weren't for those minor hits on the high cheek, I'd say it's a go for a 65... they take it down a notch to a 64 IMO.

Guess the grade on the slab: 64

Certainly looks well struck to me, nice luster too. Cheek and necks hits, I'd go 63, maybe a 64. Nice coin!

Yeah, my pics aren't the best. When commems get slow I like to see if there are any Peace dollars lying around (they are what got me into collecting). Plus, I like the old holders.

There are some small nicks in the eagle that might hold it back, but compared to some others, I think it is a bit undergraded.

Nice! And an alpha-numeric ANACS tinyslab!

Very few Peace Dollars are attractive below MS64, but your example isn't bad at all. I think she certainly deserves better than a 62, barring some unseen problem.
