Ripping 77,78,79 vendor box and some traded sets

Ok here is the last of the 77,78,79 vending boxes I have been buying from a local guy cheap. I will miss them image . I posted my previous rips here. But I also bought some topps traded sets from him. Total damage today was 240 dollars.

Next he has sets I think 2 of each year from 80 to 85 I will buy. Not sure what condition they are in , but will of course go look next week or so.

These are some of the better cards from the cases. No big cards were in good condition or cut. But thats ok . Also included highlights of the traded sets . I have more 78s and 77s I that are good looking if anyone wants to see let me know. Ran out of steam tonight though .

Enjoy feedback is always welcomed

also sorry some of the cards are not in straight in holder

Nice cards bro, I'd fork out 240 for vending box's that looked like that. Especially if it comes with a XTnd 82 Ripken - centered w/o print lines. That alone may make it worth your while. I'd be careful though - there is not a whole lot of star cards in there - you are showing mostly commons........................or the star cards or o/c or m/c. Kinda strange for a 3 year vending rip. jmho
  • all the star cards are there but they are either missed cut , diamond cut , oc or nicks on corners. on my first rip. I showed all the star cards and how brutal they were. Lots of centered. Those 70s cards are tough .

vending boxes are tough in general
  • this is what in general the star cards look like these are the photos from the first rip

Thanks for sharing all the scans! At those prices I can see why you are bummed he ran out. I love the 84TT Gooden XRC...one of my all-time favorite cards from the 80's.
  • yes but a bit oc , I can send a scan to you if you would like
  • my next stop is im driving down to Florida. Gentleman says he has a mint 1975 mini set. Said took him 2 years to get it in 1976

You should probably up the offer to $250 for that one!

  • haha. Actually for that one plus 76-81 for 2000

But ive had people say mint in the past only to be a 6 or 7

Some great looking cards in there. I've ripped '81 vending and it can be stressful, to say the least.

If you don't need those '77 Murphy's, I know where you can send them... image

It seems like you got great prices on these. I need to find a dealer like that! One of my local dealer many years ago had a 74 vending box that I bought and broke. That was a lot of fun. Sadly, my days of busting vending are most likely over as the prices have skyrocketed (assuming you can find them). Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your rip threads!

  • it was really fun .
What made yesterday great though was I had to stop at a baseball card shop in Kennesaw Ga to buy some card savers. There were a couple of old timers ripping chrome football cards boxes. I stopped and watched them and talked to them till they finished, that truly was the best part of the day . To be around people really enjoying their time with this hobby.
